Getting
It Done: Completing Christ's Commission
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached
in the whole world
as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come”
Matthew 24:14
Our Denomination: The Christian and Missionary
Alliance
What began in 1887 as a deeper life and missionary movement to mobilize
churches, has become the Christian and Missionary Alliance [C&MA],
an evangelical denomination with a major emphasis on world evangelization.
It maintains a “big tent” stance in reference to many
doctrinal matters, encouraging believers of diverse backgrounds
and theological traditions to unite in an alliance to know and exalt
Jesus Christ and to complete His Great Commission.
More than 1,100 C&MA missionaries serve in 49 nations and Alliance
churches are found in 66 countries and territories. With emphasis
on establishing churches among unreached people groups and responsive
populations worldwide, the C&MA is involved also in many types
of specialized missions such as communications, medical work, translation,
and relief and development aid.
Menomonie
Alliance Strategic Partnership
The
Menomonie Alliance Church is in the process of establishing a strategic
partnership with the Mongolia mission of the C&MA. The purpose
of the partnership is to increase awareness of the C&MA's work
in sharing the gospel with unreached people groups and to contribute
resources to further the work of the missionaries in Mongolia. Some
of the components of the strategic partnership might include:
- Short-term
missions to Mongolia
- Personnel for development efforts
- Encouragement and support for Missionaries and their children
- Pastoral Care for Missionaries
- Financial support for Mongolia church planning efforts.
- Housing for missionaries on furlough.
- Plus
many other options.
Menomonie
Alliance Missions
Like the denomination we're a part of, Menomonie
Alliance Church has an emphasis on world evangelization. Several
members serve as career missionaries and dozens from our fellowship
have participated in short-term missions projects across the globe.
Opportunities abound for the missions-minded.

How
You
Can be Involved
Missions Committee
members keep us informed about missions work in the world. They
plan the annual Missions Conference that highlights the work of
the C&MA. The group helps coordinate missions activity in
the church. Interested in joining or helping out? Contact a member

Alliance Women also have a special focus on missions.
Projects they coordinate include collecting used eyeglasses and
canceled stamps, and packing "care packages" to encourage
missionary friends around the world.
Short Term Missions opportunities are available.
Whether through the C&MA denomination or through other missions
agencies, members from young to old have served in a variety of
ministries throughout the world. Short-term missions scholarships
are available. Contact a member of the Missions Committee if you're
interested in going yourself.
Missions Mixers are held the second Sunday of
each month. Join us as we hear from career and short-term missionaries,
and other speakers and learn about what is going on in the world
of missions.
Missions
Giving Opportunities
Great Commission Fund:
Unlike other organizations, the C&MA does not require its missionaries
to raise their own support. Instead, they and their ministries are
financed through what we call The Great Commission Fund. C&MA
churches and individuals give to this fund regularly. Pledges are
received annually during our Missions Conference, or you can give
to the fund by designating "GCF" on your offering envelope.

Commission Fund.
CAMA Services: “CAMA” stands for Compassion
and Mercy Associates. “Services” refers to a variety
of relief and development ministries that flesh out the good news
of God’s love for people — body and soul. Combined,
the two words refer to compassionate servants ministering to people
in crisis situations through word and deed. You can give to CAMA's
work by designating "CAMA" on your offering envelope.

about CAMA.
March
Offerings: Held every time a "fifth" Sunday appears
on the calendar, March Offerings support designated missions projects.
In the fashion of our African brothers and sisters, we "march"
forward during the worship services to give spare change we've collected.
Pick up a cup to collect your spare change at the missions bulletin
board in the foyer, and watch the bulletin, church newsletter or
your mailbox for information about our next designated project.
