Jack
Stimmel
Senior
Pastor |
| In
what seemed like a close call as a medic in Vietnam, Jack
Stimmel realized that he was not prepared to die. After
his tour of duty and release from the service, he sensed
a void in his life. Attending a Bible study he was challenged
to give his life to Jesus Christ. He took up that challenge.
A couple of weeks later he walked into a tavern that he
used to help keep open. He felt uncomfortable and walked
back out. He found himself wondering what was happening
when God spoke quietly to his heart that He was already
beginning to change him to become more like His Son.
After
graduating from Bowling Green State University, Jack attended
Asbury Theological Seminary to study for the ministry. At
Asbury he met his future wife Diana. After graduation and
marriage, Jack and Diana ministered in northwestern Ohio. |
|
| For
four years he and his wife served as missionaries in the
Republic of Korea. Then, not being able to get a visa to
return to Korea, they served at Crown College where Jack
was a missionary-in-residence, a Missions Professor and
the Dean of Students.
Sensing
the Lord leading back into the pastorate, Jack, Diana, and
their two sons, Josh and Jon, moved to Menomonie in July,
1992. Jack became the senior pastor of Menomonie Alliance
Church, a wonderful fellowship of believers in the Lord
Jesus Christ. He counts it a privilege to pastor a church
of people who are seeking to grow in their personal relationships
with Jesus Christ, to become a house of prayer, and to offer
the hope of life in Jesus Christ to our community and our
world. |

Tom
Long
Administrative
Pastor |
| Tom's
service at Menomonie Alliance includes the day-to-day administration
of the church and its facilities in addition to coordinating
a wide variety of ministries such as Small Churches (Sunday
School) and Small Groups (Bible Studies), the Sportsmen's
Fellowship, and the growing AWANA
program for children. He's always on the lookout for leaders
and hosts for these groups. You'll also find Tom serving on
Missions Committee, preaching from
the pulpit, and often leading one of the small groups. If
you're trying to figure out how you might "plug in"
to Menomonie Alliance, Tom is a great resource.
Tom
joined the staff in July 2002, bringing with him a wealth
of knowledge and experience. He served as Vice President for
Administration at Crown College for ten years; and as Financial
Controller at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, Minn. |
|
| More
recently he served as Executive Vice President of United Plastics
Corp. in Lima, Ohio. Founded by Stanley Tam. (The profits of
United Plastics provides support for more than 900 missionaries
serving with OMS International). |

Brent
Costello
Pastor
of Student Ministries |
| Brent
was born and raised in Appleton, Wisconsin where he had
the privilege of growing up in a Christian home and attending
Appleton Alliance Church. He came to know Christ at a young
age and began to have a desire to serve in pastoral ministry
soon after that. Brent attended Wheaton College and graduated
with a degree in Bible and Theology, to help him reach his
goal. The following summer he married his wife, Allison.
Before coming to Menomonie he spent time working as a customer
service representative, and then in the kitchen of a large
church near Chicago. Brent volunteered extensively with
the student ministry program at that church while working
in the kitchen. Brent and Allison live in Menomonie and
enjoy reading and going for walks.
Brent
began ministering at MAC in September of 2005. He is responsible
for all facets of student ministries (grades 6-12), which
include Sunday School, mid-week gatherings, and summer events.
|
|
| Brent
desires the student ministries at MAC to be a place where
Jesus’ prayer in John 17:20-21 is lived out. This requires
an environment of love and acceptance, a commitment to discipleship
through the Word of God, and a desire to impact others with
the truth. Check out the Student
Ministries section of the website to for an up-to-date
look at how you can be involved! You
can also read
the student blog at here. |

Mike
Shay
Worship
Leader |
| Mike
is currently Minister of Worship
at MAC. He, his wife Robin and their two children, Katie
and Mickey, have lived in Menomonie since 1986 and have
been here at the church since 1996. Mike has been a worship
leader for more than fifteen years with Youth camps, churches,
retreats and Campus Crusade for Christ. A musician at heart,
he has recorded as a studio musician for over twenty years
and has let God lead him into a full-time ministry of worship.
Using God's word and music, both old and new, he is teaching
us about our God and how worship is acceptable to Him in
it's many formats. He is helping to create and inspire an
excitement and an intimacy in a blended format of worship
styles that is giving God's people an opportunity to seek
after God as He is seeking after those who would worship
Him
Worship
Philosophy: The current approach
to worship at MAC Sunday services is that of a "blended"
worship service. |
 |
| By
blended we mean a creative mixture of songs and hymns, scriptures
and prayer that honors traditional Christian worship yet
incorporates the new songs that the Spirit is currently
giving the church today. Our time of worship is well thought
through not only musically but also spiritually, with the
Minister of Worship and the worship team seeking God for
fresh direction weekly. Yet we encourage the worship leader
to allow for the spontaneity that the Spirit of God might
bring to any service. We also value the theological content
of our worship making sure that it aligns with scripture
and giving us a balanced view of God and humanity. Worship
on any given day may be expressed in a variety of ways based
on where the individual is. Worship may be a time to release
our sorrows and be encouraged. It may also be a time to
express our joy and faith in the Lord. Part of a "blended"
service is to acknowledge that God may be doing different
things in different people at any given time. The worship
leader will facilitate the congregation coming before the
Lord in such a way that will allow them the freedom to express
themselves in a manner that is comfortable and appropriate
for them. Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and
spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart
to the Lord; - Ephesians 5:19
Note:
Mike is no longer able to offer guitar lessons. |
